Benefits of being certified Arra

The federal government is offering a financial incentive program to encourage the adoption of CCHIT Certified EMR Software. Providers are strongly encouraged to get on the road towards "meaningful use" of software ARRA certified eligible for these incentives.

What is the ARRA?
Recovery Act and Reinvestment (ARRA) includes radical changes affecting, among other things, the adoption of electronic medical records. This law includes incentives to reward providers that achieve significant use of EMR systems in an effort to improve the efficiency of medical care in this country.

The exact definition of significant use has not been said yet, but the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT) is not expected. They are the only organization authorized to certify funds REM ARRA and labels are offering preliminary ARRA certified in preparation for the next government programs. The use of a certified EMR vendor puts on the fast track to full certification status ARRA and incentives that go with it.

What are the benefits ARRA?
From 2011, suppliers to the ARRA REM certificates will make significant use direct cash payments as a reward for approval in early EMR. A total of 17.2 billion U.S. dollars allocated for these incentives, to be paid to health care providers who meet the requirements of the ARRA.

The amount of the incentives depends on when the EMR is adopted. Providers achieving the state ARRA certified in 2011 or 2012 will receive $ 44,000 paid in five annual payments ranging from $ 18,000 the first year to $ 2,000 the fifth year. Providers who receive ARRA certified in 2013 reduced the incentives of $ 39,000 and those who come to the certification in 2014 will receive $ 24.000. The incentives will expire after that and the suppliers who have achieved certification in 2014 may not participate in the rewards.

Start immediately
CCHIT Chairman Mark Leavitt, warned providers not to wait. significant use of an EMR can not be achieved overnight and is estimated best situation would be 18 months from installation to meaningful use. A more realistic estimate would be two years or more.

Medical providers must begin today if you want to get in early incentives to become certified for the year 2012. Delaying the adoption of EMR for another year could cost thousands of dollars in lost incentives provider. And delays can cause a provider to completely lose the incentive program.
EMR Software

EMR adoption is costly and incentives ARRA is a valuable resource to help finance medical practices of the operation. EMR use has been rising in recent years with the widespread adoption of incentives ARRA inspire, practices that do not have EMR systems will be left behind by their members.

Do not use an EMR is not an option. Providers should start on the road to electronic medical records as soon as possible.
